gtx 1060 6GB for new 2018 games

Will gtx 1060 6GB be able to play the newly announced games in 1080p High settings at 60fps(average more or less)? I know it's being listed as recommended gpu in almost every 'current' games currently but I am looking for suggestion from experienced users because I'm planning to buy one for a friend next week.

yes, as long as your CPU can utilize the potential of the 1060 you will easily maintain 60fps high/ultra settings @1080p with modern AAA games. The 1060 6gb is a good card and if 60fps is what you need that that is most certainly what you will get. if you don't have 16gb ram make sure that you get it, modern games need it. I'm speaking from experience i used to have a 1060 until i purchased a gtx 1080/4k monitor

At this point it all depends on what CPU your system has and if it can keep up with a GTX 1060 6GB. But the GTX 1060 6GB itself won't have a problem at 1080p/60hz. It is the equivalent of last gen's GTX 980 with more VRAM.

I bought the i5 8400 quite a bargain with 1060 6 gb MSI all the games go over 60 FPSa for example BF1 goes up to 120 FPSa along with you have 2 * 8gb RAM, BF5 very little difference. Graphic is capable of doing what you are looking for, but with it a good processor needs to go!
