GTX 1060 6GB Giving Code 43 Error. Need Fix!

Hello,

So I am upgrading my 970 to a 1060 6 gb in my custom build mainly for editing purposes. I've heard i can get some better performance in Premiere Pro with some more v ram and games will get bumped up slightly with the change. Keep in mind, I have never had a problem with the 970.

I went through the steps, swapped the cards installed new drivers off nvidias website, but I keep getting the 'Windows has stopped this device because it has stopped working (Code 43.)' in device manager. There is also some red digital noise on my screen as well. Scanned for driver updates in device manager and it says all drivers are up to date. This is the second new 1060 I've tried which leads me to believe its not a faulty card. One other thing i noticed is that the fans on the gpu are not spinning at full power and i was a able to stop one with my finger and it did not resume spinning. It shouldnt be a power problem due to the 1060 having a more efficient power consumption than the 970.

I have tried:

Discharging power
uninstalling and reinstalling device and drivers
Windows updates involving gpu and nvidia
Adjusting 6pin power connector to gpu
checking and reseating gpu in mobo
Many restarts after updates and installs


Any suggestions?

This is the second new 1060 I've tried which leads me to believe its not a faulty card.

Where are you getting those cards? From some cryptomining rig?

Shut down and physically uninstall your GTX 1060.

Reboot into windows making sure first your monitor cable is connected to your motherboard GPU port and ensure windows device manager is clear (no display device showing error 43)

shutdown and re-install your discreet GPU making sure you connect all relevant additional power connectors and connect monitor cable

Boot into windows. Your GPU should appear under display adaptors and have the Microsoft basic display adaptor associated with it (right click adaptor in device manager and properties)

Install the correct driver for your version of windows (7/8/10) 32 or 64 bit)"
