GTX 1060 6GB or 1070?

So my question is, what would be the better GPU to get for my setup and needs.

Current setup
I5 7500
GTX 1050 ti
8 gb ram

I am mostly playing games like Overwatch and world of tanks and would love to fully use my 1080p 144hz monitor at high settings (not necessarily ultra). They say in several guides that the gtx 1070 is the best card for 144hz gaming, but my i5 7500 will slightly bottleneck the 1070 so will that affect on my fps? The 1060 6gb has no bottleneck at all.

gtx 1060 got 3% bottleneck and 1070 got 18% bottleneck.

the price of the 1070 is just 80€ more, which should I buy?

Solution
You really cant trust bottleneck calculators. They are trash. A bottleneck will vary between applications. So a program that says "18% bottleneck" is not taking into consideration all of the different applications. For example, BF1 is a CPU heavy title that your 7500 will hold some parts back. That is because your 7500 is below the minimum requirements of BF1. So of course there will be a bottleneck because you are below the minimum system requirements. Your 7500 will also hold back a 1060 in that game.

I would not have a problem with pairing a 7500 and a 1070. What may hold you back is your RAM though. Anything above a 1060, and you really should have 16gb of RAM. So I would grab a 1070 and look at getting another stick of RAM.

Solution
Yes, your CPU will likely hold you back in at least some cases in 144Hz gaming. That being said, those 'bottleneck calculator' websites (where I assume you got those bottleneck percentages from) are largely BS, I wouldn't put much stock in those numbers.

If the 1070 is a good deal, it could be a good choice even if you can't take full advantage of it in every game at the moment. That extra power will be there for when you upgrade your CPU, or as games continue to become more graphically demanding.

Why not future proof and go with the 1070! You can look to improve the rest of your system in time but the way i see it, why not max out everything you can. Getting the most from a 1070 will be better than needing more from the 1060!

Thanks,
