So i know ive mentioned that i got a free pc the cpu is an i7 6700k and gpu is a msi gtx 1060 gaming x 6gb, is it worth upgrading to a rtx 2070 super? I notice the 1060 has a better boost clock but in the end does it mean its better or faster? So the msi 1060 6gb core clock is 1506 MHZ and boost clock is 1809 MHZ, the RTX 2070 super core clock speed is 1605 MHZ and boost clock is 1770 MHZ, right now the msi gtx 1060 6gb is retailing for around $600 and the 2070 super is $500 (the one i chose). Now i will upgrade to an i9-9900k and have a new mobo and a new case but is it worth upgrading to? I have 2 165hz monitors, i mainly do 1080p. I chose the founders edition 2070 super, i could care less about aftermarket cards made by asus or gigabyte. I did get the 1060 6gb for free but i do want to achieve more fps and i will most definitely use ray tracing, is it worth it???

The GTX 1060 is like a row boat, compared to a speed boat in the RTX 2070. There is no comparison At all. It's not even a question. It is has probably twice as fast in most titles or tasks.

When compared to the 2070 Super, it's even less of a comparison.

Either something is wrong with your post OR you are looking at the prices of third party sellers on places like Newegg, that are not even remotely realistic and do not reflect actual vendor pricing. The GTX 1060 isn't even being manufactured anymore most likely, so anything you see is new old stock.

Higher boost clock does not necessarily mean more performance. The 2070 Super has more cores and compute units, making it much much better. Also, $600 is way overpriced for a GTX 1060. Those have an MSRP of $250, and now they're worth more like $170 since they're so old. It is worth it if you want ray tracing or more fps. The GTX 1060 can do ray tracing, but not on good graphics settings or greater than 30 fps.
