So im deciding on if i should upgrade my gpu from a GTX 1060 6gb, to a GTX 1070.
Will it make much of a difference while playing games if i do?
My current setup is as follows:

Case = Corsair Vengeance C70, Military Green

Graphics Card = Gibabyte, GTX 1060 6gb, WINDFORCE OC

CPU = Intel i7 4790k 4.0ghz, 4.4ghz OC

Ram = Corsair Vengence, 8gb x 2 = 16gb, DDR3

Motherboard = Maximux VI Hero

Power supply = AX760 ATX Power Supply, 760 Watt 80 PLUS® PLATINUM, Certified Fully-Modular PSU

Storage 1 = Crucial CT256MX100, 256gb SSD

Storage 2 = Seagate, 2tb HDD

Storage 3 = Hitachi, 80gb SSD

Keyboard = Razer, Cynosa Chroma, RGB

Mouse = Logitech, G502 HERO RGB

I plan on upgrading my HDD/SSD's soon aswell. So ill have a 1tb SSD (Games), 3tb HDD (Low priority games, other stuff) and a boot ssd.

What's the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor? For 1080p 60 Hz, the GTX 1060 doesn't have too much left, but you can hold onto it for a little longer if willing to compromise on detail settings. For anything higher than 1080p 60 Hz, you should definitely upgrade.

Right now im just waiting on boxing day to buy a better monitor, but as of now im just using 2 1080p, 60hz monitors

It depends on the games you are playing and your monitor's resolution. The 1070 is about 30-40% percent faster than the 1060, so it will certainly give you more graphic options. You can max almost any game at 1080p or it will allow you to play at 1440p with acceptable detail settings and frame rates. So if you have a 1440p display it may worth it but if you have just a 1080p monitor I don't think you'll gain much unless of course you have a very fast 144Hz screen in which case, the 1070 will certainly help you to take advantage of the fast refresh rate. However I think that your best option right now is to wait. The GPU market at its current state is pretty expensive for what it offers. In the near future AMD will introduce new GPUs and this will certainly shake the whole market. In the end you'll able to get more performance for the same amount of money, or the same performance with half the money. Regardless of which GPU you may choose and whether it comes from AMD or Nvidia, you'll certainly get more value then than now. Good luck.

Get the GTX 1070 if your new monitors will be 1440p or will have higher refresh rate than 60 Hz. If they will be 1080p 60 Hz, then only get the 1070 if your GTX 1060 doesn't give you satisfactory performance. If you want to play at high details or better in games that come out within the next few years, the 1060 is not enough. Basically, you only stick with your 1060 if you are either fine with running newer games at medium or lower settings, or the games you play aren't very graphically demanding. In all other cases, the GTX 1070 will be a good upgrade, although waiting for next gen AMD is also a good option, as mentioned by a previous reply.

The GTX 1070 will not be enough for 1440p 144 Hz gaming, though. At least not in AAA games. For games like CSGO and Overwatch it can do 1440p 144 Hz, but in demanding games it'll only do 1440p 60 Hz, that too at high details. Plus, you're talking ultrawide, which is even more demanding(the above statements applied for 1440p standard). You'll be looking at another GPU upgrade pretty soon if you are going with those monitors.
