Hi Guys!
Newbie to the forums. Hoping to get some answers as this problem has become a frustration
MOBO- Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
CPU - I7 3770k
PSU- Seasonic 850W 80+ Gold
Ram - Single 8 GB Stick most of the RAM slots are wonky
HDD - quite a lot

Here goes:
Bought a new ZOTAC GTX 1060 6GB AMP! as my GTX 670 was failing. Plugged into the PCI-E slot, didn't boot. went back to the shop hoping it was a dead card, but the technician said to update the MOBO's bios. I did that, and viola, the card worked... for 2 hours. After shutting down, the next morning, wanted to start up the computer, wouldn't boot agian.
- Flashed bios again, to the same exact one that worked the night before, nothing.
- made sure the pins are connected and the HDMI cable is plugged in...
- swapped out the GTX1060 with a GT610, booted into windows and worked flawlessly...
- uninstalled the 670's drivers and reinstalled the latest one from Nvidia's website.
Any Ideas??

Update :
updated BIOS to the BETA one, (2015) which is version 2.90M. No luck.
Booted using GT610, went into BIOS and set PCE-e speed to GEN-3. Swapped GT610 with GTX1060. Mobo splash screen shown.
installed newest drivers and shut down. Tried to boot up, agian, no display.
Retried swapping GT610 and booting into bios, changing PCI'E speed to GEN3, shut down and swapping out for GTX1060, tried to boot, but still no display.
Weird behaviour : 6 pin power cable not plugged in gives me a " shut down and connect 6pin power cable " on screen message. Shut down and plugged it in, no display.

well that's troubleshooting 101. could be that the graphics card can't operate, so you have to return it for a replacement. apparently, the motherboard's functional along with the power supply. what do you think
?

Update:
Thought was power cable issue, tried to replace PCI-e cable, but computer wouldn't start. Fixed back the old cable, plugged it in, voila, turned on. Just to be sure, played games on it and restarted a few times, 10 times to be exact. All could post, and boot into windows.
This morning, now to be exact, tried to boot up, NO FEEAKING DISPLAY AGIAN!. Motherboard gives mobo codes along the lines of 99 and A2. Why is it doing this????? Are there problems with compatibility issuses with the GTX1060 and Z77 boards? Its getting frustrating and sucking the lofe out of me....

HDD shouldn't be a problem. I could boot using the old GT610 no problem. Running some internet, itunes. Definitely no clicking noises from HDD.
Just initiated 1 to 1 exchange from retailer. As they have no stock, need to wait a few days. Will update once the new GPU is here.
If it still doesn't work, I'll have to purchaae another Mobo and CPU. Preferrably to the 7700K..
