Hi, I decided to purchase the 1060 AIB when it is released here and I have some problems that's been confusing me regarding gpu and monitor combo.

I am not aiming for ultra settings while playing, med-high is really okay with me.

So the question is, does a 1060 be enough for 1440p with 144mhz monitor for gaming in med-high settings? I only play med-high and sometimes I don't turn on FXAA/MXAA if that is what is called.

Any brands that you can suggest? I was liking the benQ brand and it seems that many of my peers here have purchased it. Didn't ask how's the performance though.

I merely play single player games but soon will play overwatch.

Thanks.

I am gaming only in medium to high settings. Just an average gamer.

I think 1080p with 144hz refresh rate will be my choice since i am going for the 1060.

What size of a monitor do you suggest? My pick is 24'' or 27''.

If you are budget minded then a 24" TN would be the cheapest especially for first person shooting.

If you are MMORPG/Real time strategy player then a 27" IPS. But if you are going for budget models then remember the bigger the monitor screen the bigger the flaws/grains. Don't go cheap on a 27".

Anything in between just think with your budget.

Well, i don't like TN panels due to color accuracy. I might as well go with IPS panels. I am checking out benQ brands and Dell as of now.

I am aiming for video editing and for games I play different genres. I am not gonna max out my settings when playing.

I was planning that too but I will go 1080p instead of 1440p due to cost. 1440p is kinda expensive when I go 27" here.

If you are happy to not max setting, and dont need 144fps all the time (really not needed unless you are playing competitive) then the 1060 will do that just fine. The 1060 is way faster than my gtx 780, and I dont have any problems gaming at 1440p.

Well, I like being competitive, I was aiming for an at least 120fps constant with the gtx 1060 with 1080p monitor on 27" screen with medium- high if possible settings.

I am playing with my old pc in csgo with super low settings due to failing hardware( really dying causing reboots when in windows 10) i get 200+ fps on a gtx 650ti in a 21.5" 1080p monitor.

I hope the 1060 will be a great deal with my plan or else I will go 1070.

thanks man, well, it was in the super low settings. 🙁
