Hi A few weeks ago I bought a Zotac gtx 1060 gpu for my pc. I installed it fine and everything was working fine. After a few weeks it's suddenly not working. The monitor picks up the hdmi cable because it doesn't say check video cable but only shows a black screen.

I used to turn the computer off and on and few times and it randomly works but I'm kinda sick of it now tbh lol.

Do you guys know how to fix it? Is it the pc,monitor or the cable??

You can try a different cable and monitor like your TV if you don't have another monitor. If not, then you will have to diagnose hardware and software but first try that and let me know if it fixes the problem. Make sure you use a different cable and monitor at the same time.

Yah I just did what you did said by using an new hdmi and my tv but it still doesn't work. It would probably be the gpu then right?

And just a thought. Mostly when I press the button to turn the pc off it shuts down slowly but now when i press it it shuts down instantly, is that possibly the problem?

My specs are
Gpu: gtx 1060
CPU: amd fx 8300
8gb ram

That's all I know at the top of my head xD

Yah I was going to buy a display port to hdmi adapter online when I put money into the bank on Monday.

I asked my local computer shop but they are stupid and didn't know what a display port was and insisted I was asking for a vga even though a 1060 doesn't have one lol.

I managed to turn my PC on after about turning it off and on 20 times xD. When the screen came on it said the cpu was overheated so I assume that's what it was. Should I buy a new one?

there is a problem same with mine i had to restart many times so the screen came eventually i have no cpu or other problems only that i actually use vga moniter i have a connector for hdmi
