I just built my first PC, and am now looking for a graphics card so I can play the latest games. The two contenders are the Rx 480 or the GTX 1060 (budget of around £250).

The components I have are:
-i5 4460
-2x8gb DDR3 1600 RAM
-550W Cooler Master bronze PSU
-ASRock H97M PRO4 motherboard

Which of the two graphics cards would work best for mu build? Also, which version of the card am I better getting? I am a bit conscious that the 550W PSU may not be enough, but I do not plan on overclocking the card.

Solution

Galax GeForce GTX 1060 EX OC is Cheap and retains a relatively cool temp and low noise compared to reference cards, however for a bit more you could get the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming G1 which will give great temps and stay very quiet. up to you doesnt matter too much the only performance gain in differing cards is the clock speed.

PS. whatever you do dont buy the Zotac Amp

Hi,
Both of the GPUs will be compatible with your PC, RX 480 is better for DX12 and GTX 1060 is better for DX11 Games. Choose the cheaper one of the both GPUs, because they offer similar performance.
As for your PSU, it is more than enough, even a 400W PSU will handle any of the GPUs, since they draw no more than 200w (total system power) in games.

Which 1060 is the best card to buy? I was looking at the EVGA one but it looks kind of small
