My current system:
Mobo: msi 970 gaming
Gpu: gtx 960 ssc 2gb
Cpu: fx-8350 with standard cpu cooler
Ram: 8 gb avexir
Psu: corsair cx600m

I am not not happy with the performance of my 960 with its constant overheating despite having installed 2 120 mm fans. I am looking to upgrade to a gtx 1060. I've looked at a few 1060s and would like suggestions as to which card will be the best bang for the buck, and if I would need to upgrade my cpu or mobo in the process. Any help?

Owner of a Gigabyte 1060 6GB w/ Windforce cooling (2 fans). Enormous upgrade over my previous GTX660. The 1060 idles at ~38C and hits about 55C under load (low fan speed). Can max pretty much any game 1080p 60Hz.

Your CPU will more than likely bottleneck a 1060, but it may not be noticable at all. Depends on what resolution you use.
