Hello,
So here's my situation and I'm hoping somebody can help clarify this for me. I'm looking between two graphics cards. The gtx 1060 and the gtx 1070.

I can get the gtx 1060 for roughly $240. I can get the gtx 1070 for $390. A difference of about $150.
According to newegg, the core clocks for the 1060 and the 1070 are both 1594 MHZ.
So my question is, if they both have the same core clock, what is the extra $150 for? Is it just the extra 2 gb the 1080 offers? Do y'all think it is worth spending the extra money?
I have a 2560x1080 monitor and I prefer to use max settings if possible. I want to be able to play games such as BF1 and the new Ghost recon in the future. I know the 1060 will play them just fine, but my main concern is future proofing. I currently have a HD 7950 which I've had for about 4 years now, so I don't upgrade often.
Thanks!
