I saw 970 having more cuda cores, better bandwidth bus width but belonging to maxwell generation not pascal...Will that hinder 970's performance when compared to 1060 in tasks like video editing, gpu rendering,3d rendering, color correction etc?
also should i consider the 3gb version of 1060 instead of 6gb?
thanx in advance

The 970 is lower performance. More cores does not mean more performance. The older architecture, maxwell, is less work per core. Bandwidth is hardly less but those are theoretical numbers. Also pascal has a better memory algorithm so it doesn't need as much. Too many people try to compare specs when they don't understand what they are looking at and you can't even compare different arch. It's much easier just to look at actual performance in the first place than confuse yourself with specs.

The 3gb and 6gb have different specs other than vram amount. If you can get the 6gb, that is what you want. Make sure pascal is compatible with the software you are using.
thank you for providing the link...also can u suggest me whether to go for 3gb or 6gb version of 1060 ...if 6gb i need to get a used card for cheap within my city;I can afford a new 3gb card
