Building a gaming pc. Looking at something in the GTX 1060/RX 590. Definitely want a dual fan for better cooling. So far I have:

CPU: Radeon 2600x
Motherboard: MSI - B450 Tomahawk ATX AM4
Case: H500i
SSD: 500GB Samsung

Want to know which card to get as there are many different variations of each type. Also want to know the difference between G sync and free sync. Is one better than the other? I know a little about the two, but a better description would be appreciated.

Black and red AMD themed gaming PC. Only used trusted brands and went for aesthetics if it was only a few bucks more on some parts. Can't go wrong with these selections but there are cheaper options, I just tried to tick all your boxes while making it look good and having the best performance. These are also current prices, most of these can be found for 5-10% less if you wait for flash deals or sales in the next few months (aka buy what you can and wait on some of the other parts if you want to save like $100 overall).

A Radeon 2600x CPU Hmm. But it depends on your budget 590 is more expensive tha the 1060 but a Gsync monitor is more expensive than freesync. If you are able to always hit the monitors refresh rate go for freesync if it jitters a bit like having 144Hz and getting 120fps then i would suggest getting Gsync because freesync does not work if you cannot hit the refresh rate then you can better turn it off.

I think you confused freesync with vsync. Both gsync and freesync have a range so you don't just simply hit the monitor's refresh rate when these techs cause a variable refresh rate. Both do the same thing by being able to change the monitor's refresh rate to sync to the fps output. Vsync does the opposite to sync the fps output to the monitor's static refresh rate. This causes issues from having to duplicate frames with low fps. This needs to hit the monitor's refresh rate to not have those issues. For the most part, you won't notice a difference between free/gsync but gsync monitors do cost $100+ more.

His other thread says the budget is $800 not 1200. That might be a copy/paste or maybe a wrong thread since there are no requirements mentioned to tick.

Anyways as far as gpu, the best value is the cheaper ones. The possible extra oc headroom does little compared to the price increase. A 1060 6gb is more comparable to a 580 8gb which can be found cheaper right now. The 590 has a small lead but also costs more. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#c=373,391,431&sort=price&page=1
