Gtx 1060 with 240hz monitor?

The question is here is can I run a gtx 1060 with core i7 8700k with a 240hz g sync monitor and how will it preform tips and why not or why should I change anything
The monitor is 1080p G-Sync Monitor — Alienware AW2518H

You are matching a $350 processor with a $350 graphics card.
for gaming, That budget would be more effective with a $250 I5-8600K and a $450 GTX1070.

That said, G.sync is very good at matching the output fps rate of the cpu/graphics card with the refresh rate capability of the monitor.

Yes. You likely wont be getting 240fps at 1080p in a modern GPU heavy game to make use of that 240hz refresh rate however. But in older games or games that aren't very GPU heavy, say CSGO for example you should be able to make good use of that monitor with a 1060 6gb.
 
It will work yes.

But as stated, in GPU heavy games your 1060 wont be able to run it at max settings, and drive that fast of an update rate. A 1060 will max out any game at 1080p@60hz, once you want more then in most gamest it is usually a pick 2 (resolution, settings, refresh rate).
