GTX 1060 won’t work in computer, computer won’t boot up

I have a Gateway DX4870-UR20P, with 12gb of ram inside (I added more to it) and I have a EVGA GTX 1060 GB SC graphics card and when I insert it inside, my computer won’t boot. It says stuck on the Gateway logo and won’t boot up, after a while, it takes me to a screen with a blinking “_” symbol and it will never load up for some odd reason, please help if anyone can

Did you go into the BIOS to set the discrete card as the primary and move the video cable to the new card?
Did you plug in the aux power cable into the GTX 1060?
Are you using the power supply that came with the Gateway? If yes, it may not be enough to power the card.
