Hello! as I already mentioned in the title, I am starting to be a little bit concerned about my GPU temps. it is on 49c in idle, like I am not doing anything special just browsing the web, also good to mention the fans are not spinning when I am on idle but now I tuned the fans to spin at 30% so I get 34c with fans spinning. the only change that has been made in my computer since the temps were normal is I got a new 144hz monitor by AOC - maybe it is what causing my gpu temps going to 49c on idle ? but maybe 49c is also quite normal ? I mean I can just keep the fans at 30% and keep the temps at 34c. Is there a reason to be concerned ?

I've double checked and yes, the card is intended to be pasive under 60 degrees.

Once the card is in a fully stressed status (in-game) it reaches roughly 41~42 dBA.This is a normal sound level, but you can hear the card. The card remains passive under 60 degrees C, and as such then the fans do not even spin, so in that stage it is inaudible for your ears.
Maybe is a MSI?

What you debscribe is the normal behaviour of several brands of the new nvidia 10xx cards, MSI call ir Zero Frozr or something like that.

While not in mid-heavy load (under 60º) the fans are stopped, that is not an error is just normal and the way the card is designed.

I have the Windforce OC edition by GIGABYTE. so nothing to worry about ? while playing temps are good to be honest (not above 55)
I probably just need to clean a little bit maybe the airflow is bad and getting blocked by some dusty fans and hheatsink.

I know its a relatively new card, but you could check in what condition the heatpaste is and also give the cooler a good cleaning with compressed air.

Not really worth it with his temps (they are totally normal).

Bit on the high side for idle but it also depends on your CPU (if you're running this with an AMD FX9xxx you can't possibly get this card any cooler)
Depending on the idle system temp & idle CPU temp you might want to consider adding or swapping a case fan.

However these temps are completely save and nothing to worry about.
A 144Hz screen obviously puts more stress on the GPU than a 60Hz

No its not. 49'c idle when the fans are not spinning is totally normal.

Does your card have a passive cooling mode? If not and the fans are spinning then it would result in the lower temps. Also there are a lot of other factors to take into account. Like the type of case, ambient room temps, case fan setup etc. So whilst 31 on idle is and excellent number its not really a fair comparison seeing as there are so many other variables at play here.

Like I said it's probably becuase of my new monitor that has a newer technology and 144hz (my older was 60hz)
can someone confirm that this is because of my new monitor ? before the change my temps were below 34c.

the Phoenix fan starts at 55°C
my ambient temp is currently at 23°C, I'm running a mid-case.
but that's what I was saying, 49°C - if you're not living in Australia - could hint at poor airflow in the case. still not a problem. or at a very hot CPU like an AMD FX9xxx. for just ambient temps 49°C seems just a bit high. completely save though of course.

but since temps were lower on your old screen, it's probably just the additional load on the GPU due to the higher refresh.
