After a while of gaming I get a 1 inch high group of vertical lines like static that flash on the top of my screen and go the full length of the screen. Taking out the display port cable seems to fix it.

Another issue i have is with the nvidia control panel. I have a 144hz monitor which can overclock to 165hz. In the display tab of control panel, in the resolutions it defaults to 165hz after a restart and in the adjsut screen size tab it changes to 165hz every time i open and close control panel.
I have a 1070 sc, all my components are less than 2 months old
Any ideas as to what is the issue?

can you send a pic? this sounds somewhat like artifacting is the memory oced? try replacing the display cable. do you have a different monitor you could try? plz update drivers and try again this may fix your second(and first) problem. can you send your complete specs including mobo and PSU?

Memory isnt overclocked. Dont have a pic atm but it doesnt look like any artifacting ive seen, its literally a 2 inch bunch of 1 pixel high lines going across the full length of the screen with no breaks. Drivers are up to date.
