I just have a question about the gtx 1070. are all of the cards on backorder? Because on ncix I can't find one that isn't on back order or on Newegg. Does anyone know when they might be available?

Solution
Without question the 1080 is currently the better buy over the 1070 in current market conditions (where the 1070 is affected). But I have seen 1080 prices slowly creep up. They are about $40 USD more than they were last month. Whether it's people buying them for gaming after realizing the 1070s are overpriced and out of stock or whether it's miners, or some combo of the both, nobody knows. But the 1080 prices are creeping up too.
They have been out of stock for a month now, and when back in stock, they are getting snapped up. Same with the RX 570s and 580s. Here's why:

Your best bet if you want to overpay for one (they are selling for $100-$150+ more than their MSRP when you can find one in stock): sign up for Auto-notify for the GPU you want on NewEgg and B&H Photo. And when you do get that email ding, you better jump on the order button like a cowboy drawing a pistol in the Old West because it will go fast. You aren't the only one getting said notification of being back in stock.

Thanks for the reply, I have placed my order about 3 weeks ago on NCIX I just thought that the card I have ordered was discontinued without them telling me. Thanks for the helpful information :)

Overpaying that much for a 1070 is kind of silly though, when you can get a 1080 for close to the same price. : P

I wouldn't consider jumping on one at all if it's priced around $500. Just get a GTX 1080 in that case, since those currently start at around $550, for 20-25% more performance. A GTX 1070 priced significantly more than $400 is a GTX 1070 not worth buying.

Hello, I really want a GTX 1080 but the pricing in Canada makes it a lot more expensive. The GTX 1070 Super Clocked that i ordered came to $814 And i wanted to see if a GTX 1080 would be around the same price but all of the graphics cards that i tried to buy would end up over $1000 or around $900 not including taxes shipping and handling, etc.
