My computer keeps getting a BSOD (blue screen of death) randomly after I installed a new STRIX GTX 1070. I tried reinstalling the drivers, power ports and everything and nothing seemed to fix it.

If you have any ideas please let me know!

The error I get is: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (ddkmd.sys)

The graphics card I had before was a AMD HD5830

Here are my system specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1055T
PSU: 750W
Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
OS: Windows 10

If you need any more info please let me know.

Thanks,
Henry

Solution
So I finally found a solution to the constant crashing of my computer.

Uninstall any iPad monitor software (ex: Duet Display, Display Link, etc)

That will fix the problem.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say thanks. I've been having trouble with the ddkmd.sys BSOD when connecting an Aorus Gaming Box to my XPS13. Uninstalling Duet Display fixed the issue. Hopefully anyone else with an external GPU having similar issues will find this and it will help them as much as it helped me.

Just came in here to say thanks, this post is what solved my issues while trying to update the drivers for my laptop with a 1070 card. Kinda strange since it's been working fine with Duet Display for the past year or so, but glad this is all sorted now!
