GTX 1070 - Canada In store Date?

Does anyone know when the GTX 1070 will be in store in Canada? My retailer just says backorder...

Planning on upgrading GPU this week as friends GPU died and I'm selling him my old one. Upgrading and making a bit of money back. Looks like it might not work out.

Does backorder imply I can pay for it at the store and wait for it to come in? O

Or do I literally have to wait for it to be in-stock?
