GTX 1070 Card

I'm looking to upgrade my card. I have an alienware aurora r3. But i'm not sure what PCI slot or even motherboard I have. I'm trying to see if the 1070 is backwards compatible with pci 2.0? Or maybe any higher card is? Any thoughts?

update the motherboard bios to the latest version and there should be zero problems.
