GTX 1070 Custom cards release date

Hi

I know the GTX 1070 reference/founders edition card is going to be released on the 10th of may. Does anyone know when the custom cards will be available (MSI, ASUS version) and is it worth waiting for the custom cards by MSI etc or can I just but the GTX 1070 on its release day?

The founders edition will be about $100 more than any custom manufactured cards by vendors. All for a nice looking cooler and bragging rights.
I'd say wait if you can be patient, who knows how long the vendors will take to customize and factory OC these cards.

Yes its worth waiting for the custom AIB cards from manufacturers because they will have better overclocking potential. And they will start getting releases around June after a month of Reference Card Release. Zotac is already teasing their coming GTX 1080 custom card. You should be able to see them in market soon.

Everything you hear for the time being is rumors. AIBs may be released the same time as the FE, but they may come a while after.

I prefer AIB over reference cards, as I'm not keen on the blower style fans, and I'd rather not pay a premium for that. + they are usually factory overclocked, which is nice.

The Nvidia Subreddit will probably be your best source on information as to when the new cards will be out.

in my experience with the gtx 1080 graphic cards isn't as powerful as others including myself seen especially in 4k resolutions, i'm getting low frame rates down in the upper 20s to upper 30s and that's it , the ones on you tube isn't accurate , I got pretty much the latest hardware to try to run 4k with Ga-Z97x-gaming 3 with a I7-4790 processor, 32 gigs of ram, with the gtx 1080 and it run badly in 4k , i'm really considering to go with the gtx 1070 in SLI

I just got done watching 1 on you tube, he was mentioning that the custom cards will be 100 less and more overclocking headroom, his video of the benchmarks were right on the money comparing what I was getting, best to wait, probably in august we will see some custom cards to be out as right now the founder's edition is still high in demand, I was at a computer company yesterday and seen 15 go within an hr's time until the supply n demand stays high they won't be releasing the custom cards soon

It only took a day or two for the GTX 1080 cards to become available. Hopefully we will be lucky and the gtx 1070 will be the same!!

Well guys the proper drivers for GTX 1080 have yet to be released. It has to be atleast 10-20% better than GTX Titan X Benchmarks. I think you should use the latest Mirror's Edge Catalyst drivers then test.

if you're on 4k the gtx 1080 fe or the after market 1s isn't going to be powerful enough to play on 4k I had issues with choppy feeling on the gameplay I looked it up on you tube and seen a lot of others were getting the same
