[SOLVED] GTX 1070 high pitched noise when under load

Solution
Yep, coil whine.

450W PSU is a little small for a GTX1070, so that might just be a prudent upgrade.

If you can isolate the noise to the GPU, you can try adding some silcone caulking along the coil packs to see if that helps dampen them. But to get to all of them, that means taking the card apart.

I've found with the 900 and 10 series cards that the whine also follows FPS output. in WoW particularly I always ran at 60hz to avoid the quite audible noise at 144hz.
Maybe? Cannot say for sure, so i won't take the responsability of having you dropping money and then have the problem still lol. It's def something you can try. Will it get fixed? Maybe? Most likely as i said, it's the card getting old.

Welp as long as it's working fine I guess everything's fine. Only thing I'm worried about is my psu blowing up like my old 500 watt one oh, by the way the one im currently using is a p450b

If you are using a 450w bronze i would DEFINITELY recommend a PSU upgrade. Do a quick Google search "PSU tier list" and get something from the tier b. Never cheap out on PSU. You should've learned your lesson when the first exploded. Guess not.

first one exploded with my old rx 470 and my old i5.... so at the time of getting that gigabyte one i was still with my old setup...

Well my monitor is a 60hz one and I always have vsync enabled but I play pretty much the most demanding games that are out

welp quick update.... I got a super flower leadex III 550W and coil whine hasn't changed in any way shape of form..... Guess I'll just roll with it

Still a great PSU choice, it will be with you for many years.

I would hold off on taking the GPU apart just in case.

Even my GTX1080 with a solid water block strapped to it has coil whine. Quite bad with the side panel off and no headphones.
