Question Gtx 1070 low fps

In heaven benchmark my gtx 1070 on 1080p gets 150fps ish.
which is pretty good.
I have a i7 6700 and in fortnite i sometimes struggle to get 60fps on competitive settings (everything low accept texture and view distance)
I have the latest drivers and all.
But i am using a 60hz normal monitor.
Is there any solution?

Are you in borderless windows mode in fortnite or fullscreen? -> try both, but from experience full screen should work better while borderless window is good for tabbing out/in.
Maybe FPS capped in settings ? -> remove the cap
Vsync on? -> Turn off

I have tried all the type of windows in fortnite and vsync is off. My gpu fans however sometimes spins and sometimes doesnt. In cp i have the graphics card set to maximum performance

I have tried apex legends. I couldnt find the fps anywhere but the game was pretty smooth.

You can turn on the fps counter inside of GeForce experience if you have it installed. Look at the fps in other games. If its fine in other games, try reinstalling fortnite.

I just realised that in fullscreen the fps is 60 consistently and is getting 130-140. Thanks for the help
