GTX 1070 Low Usage and Performance

I have had a MSI GTX 1070 and i7 6700k processor and 8gb of RAM for about a year and i have been getting horrible fps compared to other people with same spec and I don't understand.

is the monitor hooked up DIRECTLY to the gpu and NOT the motherboard?

I have my monitor hooked up to my gpu and my cpu temps around 40 and gpu around 60.

I have my monitor hooked up to my gpu and my cpu temps around 40 and gpu around 60.

wait 40 degrees while under load?


if so you migh have the cpu stuck at low speeds


install msi afterburner and turn on cpu speed monitoring in the OSD, is it boosting up to its proper speed? or is it stuck?


if you have a msi motherboard make sure slow mode is turned off

I was just checking and it was around 55-60 while bench marking
