Hello i recently bought gtx 1070 zotac amp edition and upgraded my processor to i7 4790,but sadly im only getting 60-70% gpu usage most of the time in games.Gpu temp is at 73c max and gpu clock speed is at max too,but due to the gpu usage im not able to get the max that the gtx 1070 can...

Specs:- i7 4790
Zotac Gtx 1070 Amp edition.
8gb ddr3 1600mhz corsair vengence
PSU:- Corsair Cx 600 v2

your cpu is not holding you back i know that much (unless you underclocked it to 2ghz 😛) if your gaming at 1080p @60fps then its perfectly normal as your simply not using the full power of the card given its more a 60hz max settings 1440p card

What makes you think this is not good ? Describe please what you really think it is happening.

This is perfectly normal. My GTX 1070 does not really go above 70% while playing The Witcher 3 at 1080p with V-Sync enabled.

I need to continue this discussion. On my old 980Ti even with vsync I was getting clocked on which was overclocked, in my case 1505mhz on core. GPU usage was 99% I believe.

On gtx1070 I'm getting ~70% gpu usage and clocks are between 1300-1550mhz (where 1550 should be base clock). Now I'm wondering why ? I assume GPU Boost 3 is making this mess, and by mess I mean it because I get some weird shuttering sometimes when clock speed is changing. I don't like how Pascal works so far :/

The latest "Hotfix" driver that I installed yesterday forced power saving mode on in the nVIDIA control panel which caused the clock and memory speeds to constantly adjust themselves in order to maintain a balance between performance and efficiency. Maybe that could be your issue?

It doesn't work. Although I commented because people above said that it's normal. I'm still not sure that should be normal.

I tried hotfix same thing, I can force max performance through power management in nvidia panel though but I'm not fan of that, I would rather use card as it supposed to be used. So if that is actually a mistake or fail in drivers I will wait for more stable ones. I don't have anything to play at the moment which is gpu intensive anyways :)
