GTX 1070, or GTX 1060 + new CPU?

Hi,

Title really says it all. I have a £250 budget for an upgrade on my i5 4460/gtx 960/8gb ram rig, and I was wondering which option to choose. I don't want to get a new motherboard, so a new CPU will have to be LGA 1150. Any answers appreciated!

Depends what kind of games you play and what resolution. For 1080p, the best overall upgrade is probably a GTX 1060 6GB / RX 580 for improved gaming performance, they can handle High/Ultra settings at 60+ FPS in most modern titles and an i5 4460 should hold out pretty reasonably. Although if you can find a good deal on an i7 4790/K, it would help too if you play a lot of games that would benefit from a stronger CPU. Hope this helps!
