GTX 1070 or GTX 1080

Particularly I'm looking at the watercooled versions. The msi Sea Hawks are already out and I don't know if EVGA Hybrids are coming anytime soon. But specifically, is it worth getting the 1080 in the long run, as I won't be upgrading anytime soon? At first I'll use 1080p 60Hz, but will upgrade to 1440p or ultrawide 1080p. What I'm most concerned about is the price difference between what Nvidia said and what's available now in Europe. Will the prices go down during the following few months? 1070 would be perfect for my budget, but I'd like the 1080 in the long run.

Solution
I'll just summarize.
Both 1070 and 1080 will be priced more reasonably (within the MSRP range or may be even lower) in a month or so.
For the 1080p @60Hz, you are perfect with 1070 on any game settings. Going 21:9, will significantly increase pixel count. So for 1440p 21:9, you gonna need GTX 1080 for minimum 60FPS on any settings.
As for water cooling, it is a tricky thing. for the price of water cooled 1070, you can get the 1080.
The benefit of the water cooling is mostly obvious within small computer cases with poor airflow. In a good case with decent airflow, custom air coolers from EVGA, Gigabyte, ASUS and others, will perform the same or better. Remember, the cards you mentioned, are using water cooling for GPU only. the rest is...

As long as i know, the gtx 1080 is worth for future proof gaming rig, both 1070 and 1080 are brand new, but 1080 proves better than 1070 at any benchmarks because it has better memory interface and computing performance.

Thanks for response! Yeah, 1080 is definitely better long term. How likely do you think price cuts will be in the following few months, since these are the release prices?

I'm definitely not looking at the founders edition, but the thing is they are the cheapest right now, compared to others with 3rd party cooling. I have no idea why. Do you thing watercooling them is worth it?

Watercooled gpu ? Not really worth, for gaming, im pretty sure its not necessary. But when comes to heavy duty server PCs, with long time use and heavy load task and rendering, its kinda worth it. So the fastest and best solution is using 3rd party cooling solution with decent prices and sometimes overclock.
(DA is currently the lowest price for non-founders edition of gtx 1080)

So are price cuts likely in let's say 3 - 4 months? I mean this is after all the price when it's still less than a month old...

They are are basically CPU coolers adapted for the GPU. they are not getting close to custom built loops with full (or smart built universal) blocks in terms of quality and performance. They also tend to have a limited life span of 3-4 years.

Thanks for the reply, n0ns3ns3!
I just didn't get what has 3-4 year lifespan. Liquid coolers?
I wasn't thinking about watercooling for some crazy performance, just to keep them cooler to, maybe, increase GPU lifespan. But I guess it's unnecessary.

The liquid cooling kits used in cards like MSI seahawk have not that long lifespan. you might be lucky, but the pump tends to fail after a few years, and there is no way to fix it. You need to replace the loop (gpu block with pump and radiator). They also may leak :)
Like you said, for your purposes, water cooling is unnecessary. For example cards from EVGA have excellent coolers that take care of all components on video card and not just GPU. Just make sure you have a decent airflow within your computer case.
