Hi guys,
So my GTX 1070 has been serving me well, I use it for video encoding acceleration for HEVC 10 bit. Yesterday I noticed that it was slowing down to 90 fps for 1080p video /H.265 10 bit) and normaly it bumps up to 300 fps (550 fps with 1080p H.264) so something was wrong...I didn't chek the temps but then I tried reinstalling 3 different drivers and I had the same problem. Tried restarting the computer, changing the destination file to an HDD, SSD, NVME, M.2...nothing so I unpluged the card and re-pluged it just exactly as it was before.
It didn't let me boot because it said to power upp the power cable..and it was already powered up..so I tried every single pci-e power cable from the power supply and no luck...it has to be the gpu issue because its plugged just as it was before and no issues before and it's also very strange that none of the PSU pci-e power cables sudenly don't work.
I removed the card 3 times, tried this process again so it must be the card because this issue can't be a coincidence with the card slowing down encoding video.
Any ideas? I bought it 10 months ago, so if nothing works I'll request a repair since the warranty is still up to 2+ years. I really need this card, as I use it to work and now I'm on my laptop and can't do too much with a GTX 960M.
If it helps my specs are:
i7 4790K
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 Mobo
32 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz
Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
Noctua NH-D14
Corsair 760T
800W Tacens Radix IV 80 Plus Silver PSU
Thanks to whoever has the time to answer
