Hey guys,
So I've heard the GTX 1070 requires a single 8 pin connection. I'm planning on buying the Asus 1070 Strix, and in the pictures it has two connections. I've already purchased a single 8 pin white extension cable, do I need another one?

Solution
i have all the specs and links and reviews available here :) http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902598

the strix 1070 only needs a single 8-pin. not really listed on the product page but the reviews confirm it with pics and words

Extension. I plug it into my PSU cable, like this - http:// Except what I have right now is 8 pin. Haven't bought the card yet.

Asus's site only shows 1 8-pin connector on the GTX 1070 Strix: https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING/

Assuming that's the right model of course. If the card has two connectors you have to use both of them, so should the card arrive and have two connectors you'll need a second cable. I, for example have an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X, and it does have 1 8-pin and 1 6-pin PCI-E power cable. It's totally pointless on a GTX 1070, but some companies are putting them on nonetheless.

To add on, my PSU is the EVGA G2 550w.

Where does it show that on the site? I'm looking everywhere and I can't find it. And yes, it's the right model.
