GTX 1070 TI/1080 Compatible with M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard

Hey,
I'm looking to upgrade just my GPU at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these parts are compatible:
M5A97 R2.0 (As a motherboard)
Either GTX 1070 TI or 1080
AMD FX 6300
I know that processor may bottleneck the GPU a bit, but I'm purely looking for compatibility. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

well sure it will run on your motherboard but I can foresee possibly bottlenecking with that older generation AMD cpu of yours, especially with a 1080, would not be so bad with a 1070.
What is your computer monitor ? if not 4K then go with 1070.

At 1080 p the fx 6300 will severly bottleneck anything higher than a 1050ti. Also what psu do you have?
The motherboard will work just fine with both cards.
