Hey guys,

i can't decide. Should i buy the gtx 1070 ti or 1080, or should i wait for the new 11xx series to come out?

I know that gtx 1080 ti would be the best choice but i don't have that much of money to buy it.

I can get: 1. EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti SC GAMING ACX 3.0 for about 413,00€
OR
2. EVGA nVidia GF GTX1080 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 for about 452€

My current graphics card: gtx 770

Thank you guys for your advice and help.

Just answered a very similar question other day heh, the 1070ti is just a OC'd 1070 so its comparable in performance but the 1080 is still 10-15% faster out of the box and you could OC that to get it closer in performance to a TI version. Just be aware OC'ing does put a bit of extra wear on the GPU,IE heat/power draw/fan speed compensation! But honestly the 11 series is probably your best bet, or you could wait for the 11 series to push the price of the 1080 down a bit (Nvidia has a massive excess supply of GPU's due to mining dying down and moving to ASIC's) you may even be able to swing a TI @much better price then current market!

All of that is wrong.
GTX 1070 ti is not just OCed GTX 1070. It is closer in performance to GTX 1080.
And no - you can not OC GTX 1080 to 1080 ti performance level.

well Sky your right my bad on the reference to it being an ACTUAL 1070 just oc'd what I meant is that its performance out of the box is on par with a OC'd 1070 and I never said you could overclock a 1080 to a ti, I stated closer in performance not on par lol way to make somebody just trying to help out feel awful! much obliged!

Hey man. I have i5 4670k OC-ed to 4ghz and 16gb of ram. I decided to buy gtx 1070 or 1070 ti at the end since the gtx 1080 was on sale (and the sale ended-now its much more expensive and i probably don't need gtx 1080 for my gaming rig). I have 24' 60hz monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. I am not planning to buy new higher hz rate monitor in the nearest future.
