Hi there,

I'm thinking about updating my rig to improve its performance and my idea is mainly to get a new GPU. The use is video editing with Premiere and After Effects, 3D design with Cinema 4D, graphic design Photoshop, Illustrator... and videogames. I currently have a GTX 770 and I was thinking of Nvidia (it seems to be better with Adobe) GTX 1060 6GB or the new GTX 1070ti. But my doubt is with respect to the micro and the specs I currently have:

Intel Core i7 2600
16 GB of DDR3 RAM at 686 MHz
Asus Board P8H67 (LGA1155)
SSD Samsung EVO 840 500GB
HDD Seagate 2TB
Windows 10 Pro

Would buying a GTX 1070 ti overkiull for a i7 2600?? Would it create bottleneck? and therefore not getting the most out of the investment on a GTX 1070 ti?

Any other graphics or hardware changes that you recommend?

Thank you very much.

Pabs

My question for you. Are you currently satisfied with your rendering/ 3D design speed? If so, get GTX 1070 and a 1080p 144Hz monitor. Upgrade to 1070/1070ti/1080 won't boost your rendering/3D design speed.

Assume you get 1070 first, sell 770 and get the monitor:

Monitor: AOC - G2460PF 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor (€229.90 @ Caseking)
Total: €629.51

Depends on what gaming resolution, 1080p, 2600 will bottleneck, 1440p, much better.
For your video editing/3D/4D tasks, I will say 2600 will be pushing it. What is the total budget for upgrade? Do you have a gpu for now or you are only using IGPU? May find you a better build.

Hi, my gaming resolution is 1080p but my main interest is video editing and 3D design. My budget is 500€, I believe by getting the best GPU for video editing and 3D, gaming will be fine. But I do not want to overkill on video/3D. Also I'm not planning to change motherboard and CPU for a few years after this upgrade, then I will get a 4K-oriented brand new rig.

So i7 2600 is fine, right? What about the GPU, which one would you recommend?

Many thanks.

nvidia next series won't be coming out for quite sometime. right now the optimistic estimate would be somewhere in Q2 2018.
