GTX 1070 Ti vs 1080 Help!

​​​​​​Looking for new GPU and was wondering if a 1070 ti oc preform almost like a 1080? I am leaning towards the Zotac cards, but is it 1080 worth it? The clock rates seem to just be off by a hair. Also if you have a better card to recommend please do thanks.

You can OC a 1070ti to match a 1080, however I think the 1070ti is sort a waste, eitehr get a normal 1070 or a 1080.

agreed, and if you're going to get the 1080. might as well get the 1080ti

Nvidia didn't allow factory overclocks on the 1070Ti because that will match or beat a 1080. Several board partners did include an overclock setting that will automatically overclock the card a moderate amount. An overclocked 1080 would still be faster though. It all comes down to price, and the 1070Ti MSRP was supposed to be about $100 less than the 1080. It's worth it at that price differential. But prices have been screwed up forever.

Of those 3, I'd go for MSI 1070Ti. But unless you really need a new card now, I would wait. I wouldn't want to pay more than MSRP for an architecture that's more than 2 years old. Even if prices are increased on the next generation, you should be able to get 1080 performance at an 1160 price point.
