Gtx 1070 used buy or no?

so i have a friend that has a gtx 1070 the evga black edition one and he is willing to sell it to me for $300, i know thats gotta be a bangin deal but is there any chance that it could mess up anytime soon? hes selling low bc he wants a gtx 1080 like right now so thats why its so cheap bc he needs quick money, its only been used for 6 months, barely played on, and has played games like gta v on 3 monitors on 1080p so has it been stressed a lot? or is it a good investment?

It's a good investment. So long as your friend hasn't aggressively overclocked it, it should be fine. The only reason I wouldn't buy the card is if your friend is a heavy smoker and smokes near the PC.
