I don't know about outperform, but but it's probably the better buy. The 980TI will probably always be more expensive and will consume more power. If the 1080 and 1070 are supposed to outperform the Titan, then the 1070 will do better than the 980TI. And at ~$350 will be the better buy.

980Ti is still going to be better, the 1000 series cards will only outpreform the Titan in VR because of the newer technology for the other resolutions the 1080 will be slightly better then the Titan and the 980Ti. im looking the upgrade soon to, if the price for a 980Ti is going to drop (hope so) then i would be picking that one up because im gaming at 1080P and wont go higher because of the rediculous prices of 4K screen in Eu.
