GTX 1070 vs GTX 1080

Asus Turbo GTX 1070 vs Gigabyte Gaming G1 GTX 1080. Which one is more with it? I don’t plan on gaming at anything higher than 1080p currently. But I want to be able to max out most games and record with Shadowplay too.

I prefer non-turbo version for quietness
1070 is more than enough for 1080p
if living in US, evga has 1070 on sale for <$300 atm.

$200 is pretty cheap for a 1070. Just because it was mined with does not mean it is bad. Even if it crapped out in a year or two, $200 for a couple years use of a good GPU is not a bad deal. In the end, any used card you buy today has the risk of be mined with, so I guess it is really just up to you to how much you are willing to risk.

I would not go with the 1080, too much GPU for 1080p.

I'd never buy a card that's been mined with unless you personally know the seller. Some people were good about lowering the voltage and increasing fan speed to keep temps down but I'm pretty sure most people just burned through those cards with heavy mining. You have no idea how long they'll last before you start getting artifacts and then they become a expensive paper weight.

Okay, so no 1080 because it’s not needed. And as far as my setup goes. I have a x370 Mobo, Ryzen 5 2400g, and 2x 8gb Corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 3000 MHz. I plan to get this card and run with that cpu for a bit, then figure out an upgrade path from there.
