I am lucky enough to have come in to receipt of an RX 470. With the market being as it is and having the chance to acquire a GTX 1070 for £330 and sell the RX 470 for £280 (bought at £190), or sell the 1070 for £400+ ?

I ask as I'm not sure what'd be better, keeping the 470 and then getting another in a few years, or keeping the 1070 for what would be £260.

Any suggestions of 144hz are not what I'm after, but an IPS 24" 1080p freesync screen may sway me if the range is effective enough i.e 30-75.

Are you one of those people that want to max out games or one that's fine with lowering a few settings. If you are someone that wants to play everything on ultra no matter what and/or contenplates upgrading to 1440p then keep the 1070. If you plan on staying on 1080p and are fine with playing games on high keep the 470. You should also consider how long you want to keep it. I wouldn't want to keep the 470 for longer than 2 years. The 1070 would obviously last longer.

I feel my concerns are that if I keep the 1070 it'd depreciate far faster, given how the 770 ended up but the 970 is doing alright. Far faster than say keeping the rx 470 for two years.

In all honesty I'm alright with 1080p, I'd never go larger than 24" with it anyway. 1440p feels like I may as well wait until 4k is more feasible.
