So basically, i currently have the ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080 8GB, and my friend is selling his Zotac RTX 3060 12GB.

I was thinking about buying it. I would like to know if its worth switching to the RTX 3060. I saw a few benchmarks on youtube comparing it and it seems there is a slight FPS difference.

I mainly play F1 22, CSGO, Warzone, and occasionally RUST with a 27" 1080p monitor.

Your opinions would be very much appreciated, should i switch to the RTX 3060 or stay on the GTX 1080?

more modern games would run better on RTX due to beter hardware DX12 support and higher VRAM, but older games which doesnt utilise better DX12 tier support (like CSGO) would run slower

Thank you for the swift response.
So there would be some performance difference with newer Game titles. I saw on a few gpu comparisons the fps difference is like 10-15fps for the RTX 3060, so that would be approximately expected in newer games?

Yeh as @Zerk2012 said the 1080 was pretty fast so you aren't getting much of a bump from a 3060 and to be honest the RT doesn't really work that well on the 60 class cards as RT is so demanding you'll struggle to get good enough frame rates.
