GTX 1080 fans stop spinning?!

The fans on my graphicscard stops spinning and starts spinning over and over again.

It's the Gainward GLH. I'm only using one vga cable that has a 8pin+ a 6pin on it. Is power the problem?

They start spinning fast and after maybe 2 seconds they slow down to the point i can see the logo on them. This happens in games.

It's normal , then turn on at a certain thermal threshold , when needed , 1070 G1 does it too.

1 minute late :/
Its to reduce noise when idle. Only turns the fans on when under load or above a certain temperature.

My Gigabyte G1 1070 does this too , it's suppose to.

My MSI 970 and 960 did it too , it turns on and off depending on the thermal load.

Just monitor your gpu temps while doing a good 20 min test under load. As long as it maintains good temps you are fine
