GTX 1080 founders addition fan question

I just purchased a gtx 1080 founder edition and I have one question.
Does the fan remain off while idle and then turns on when running a game?

Yeah thats normal, should kick in when put under load. Some low load games may be able to run without the fan kicking in.

May depend on the stock fan profile, my impeller always spins albeit very slowly at idle. Asus branded FE fwiw.
