GTX 1080 Framerates suprisingly low

I just purchased a 27" 1440p Dell monitor today. I hooked it up and turned on Destiny 2 to see how it performs after the switch only to see that my framerates are awful. I'm getting around 35-50 which seems ridiculous for a GTX 1080 and a Ryzen 5 1600. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I'm looking for advice as to what I should do or what could be the issue.

Fixed it, although I'm not sure which of my steps did it.
