[SOLVED] GTX 1080 & i7-8700k

Mobo: Asus ROG Strix Aura Z370- E
CPU: i7-8700K
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 8GB
RAM: Team Force Delta DDR4 2400 (2x8) 16GB
Cooler: Deepcool Captain 240EX

Problem


Whenever I play Fortnite, I start stuttering/freezing and frame drops to at least 60 on high settings. max is 200fps. Average around 160.

Whenever I play BO4 i average around 90-110 on max settings. and have many frame drops which I dont know why. Its starting to get frustrating.

Unreleated, but I'm interested in why you got DDR 2400mhz for a top end CPU with a 2666mhz memory controller that most use DDR 3200mhz with.

Budget reasons. Thinking I have a leeway clocking it to 3000. Which I don’t know how but I’ve read that I can. I’m still new to this stuff.

What power supply are you using? If You couldnt spend $15 on appropriate RAM I'm guessing you bought a bad PSU.

Yeah, that PSU isn't very good. Next Time you want to purchase some parts, I would get some advice because you bought a $500 GPU and a $350 CPU then bought a very poor PSU and mediocre RAM. IMO the issue is your PSU.
