gtx 1080 in 2018-20

do you think a gtx 1080 will be able to run games at max detail at 1440p resolution in the years 2018-2020

Signs point to yes, I don't see mainstream cards getting more than 8GB of VRAM within the next couple years, and a high-end card now will turn into midrange then so I think it will do good enough.
