GTX 1080 midnight release tonight?

Does anyone know if retailers will be letting people order the GTX 1080 at midnight tonight?

Not sure, I would just check the website you plan on buying from after midnight. I checked a few stores (Newegg/Microcenter/NCIXUS) but none of them are even advertising the release. Amazon has a few listed but there horribly marked up to $1000 for what is only a $699 GPU.

If those prices are indeed correct... Wait until they come down. Initial release-price, especially on something like the GTX 1080 is going to be gouged, as demand is going to be high.

This GPU is NOT a GTX 980 Ti replacement/crusher, if that is what you are looking for...

If those prices are indeed correct... Wait until they come down. Initial release-price, especially on something like the GTX 1080 is going to be gouged, as demand is going to be high.

This GPU is NOT a GTX 980 Ti replacement/crusher, if that is what you are looking for...

Well, I just built a PC and decided to wait on the GPU part until the release of the GTX 1080. Also, by looking at the benchmarks...the 1080 kills the 980ti in 4k.

in 4K... okay, the 980 Ti was/is not exactly the premier GPU in some instances. It takes two to do that, nothing new stated there.
