Hi everyone!

I currently have GTX 760 with i5 4670. I think now it is time for me to upgrade everything since I have not been changing my parts last 5 years.

It will probably be my last time I will upgrade my computer, so I was thinking about getting gtx 1080.

However, I read threads that the difference between 1070 and 1080 is mostly on VR. Is that true? or should I just buy 1080 for extra ~$100?

Another question: Whether I get 1080 or 1070, which brand should I get? does it really have big differences? I am thinking (for 1080) about getting the cheapest, which is GTX 1080 Turbo Cooling 8GB or Windforce. Does adding 40~50 buck on GPU create notable difference?

I am thinking about getting gpu that has minor noise (not too much), and temperature goes around less than 85 on load. What do you guys think?

Hmm...1080p u say....bit overkill for that resolution but it should work fine with your 144 hz monitor as it will make good use of that...now i wouldn't recommended vr as an i5...it will work but won't be that great (not...

hmm....what's your monitor res? That will really be a deal maker on which gpu u should get...and yes....if u want a smooth vr experience get a gtx 1080....but can u afford a vr headset (such as htc vive)...the brands aren't much of a diffrence rlly on performance...just pick the one which u personally like...

Thank you! My monitor is 1080p and 144Hz. I think I can get 1070 for right now (and I would). Do you still think 1070 will be good for next 5~6 years? I upgrade my computer once in almost 6 years.

A 1070 will be a good option..unless u can afford a 4k monitor....if u can afford a 4k monitor get a 1080...

I see what you are saying! thank you.

I am thinking about next 5 years so I will be having 7700k, but not sure for 4k monitor soon. Still need to think about it but your answer did help me! Thank you!
