Gtx 1080 vs 2060?

Which would be best for 1080p gaming going forward?

Well RTX 2060 currently trade blows with a 1070 ti so a GTX 1080 is faster the questions really come down to cost if you can get the GTX 1080 cheaper than the 2060 then that would be the way to however you probably would have to go the used route to find one. If your willing to do that then it would probably be better to get a used 1070 (ti) since it should be cheaper than a used GTX 1080.

Honestly, if you do 1080p, even 144hz or 240hz, for esport games, you could get away with a 1070 (not ti) but if you are willing to spend this much, personally, I would go for the 1080 (if you can find one...) especially if it cheaper or around the same price... chances you play any game with rtx are low and even if you did, like everyone, you would disable it. on a 2060 battlefield is kinda hopeless to play on ultra 1080 with rtx.

bottom line, gtx 1080 if it costs just as if not cheaper. and if you feel like spending less, you could get away with a 1070 ti or a normal 1070.

2060. Since you are doing 1080p, you should be pretty well future proofed for the next 3 years.

the 2060 is cheaper than any 1080 i can find on the market and does 1080P just fine. I dont like how hot it runs or the 6 gig of ram though.

I will strongly recommend you to go with 2060 or 2070 instead of 1080, as you will be future for at-least for 4 years
