Question Gtx 1080 overclock giving lower fps

I have a EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 Superclocked 2 and when I overclocked it to +100 core and +300Mhz with a custom fan curve and power limit at max, it gives me lower frames while running at lower temps. I hoped to squeeze some extra performance but it seems when I overclock it doesnt push as hard (GPU usage around 50%). My CPU is a i7 7700k at 4.5Ghz and with overclock settings the GPU temp is around 63 degrees celsius. Any help?

Well first of all, if the game is using 60% of the GPU before overclocking, 50% would be the normal outcome, there is no way for you to get the game to ask more of the GPU, thats all optimisation on there end. Run heaven benchmark and test your results, games vary so much

GPU usage w/o overclock is around 80% and when i run heaven benchmark i do get higher score with the overclock setting but in games it just holds back.
