gtx 1080 still wort it

Is the GeForce gtx 1080 still a good graphics card and will it run AAA games in 2018? I am going to get the Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card. If there is a better type of 1080 for similar price please tell me.

Yes it will. But that also depends on what games and at what resolution you are playing at.
1080p and 1440p it will be more than enough.

so no 4k then but 1440p will allow me to get good frame rates and still have great graphics

I AM USED TO CONSOLE 30FPS BUT I WOULD LIKE 60FPS and i would prefer to game at 1440p at 144hz monitor

so a 1080 can handle the job at 1440p, i only want 60fps and if necessary i dont need ultra graphics i can deal with very high or even high

1440p @ 60 fps the GTX 1080 can handle most new AAA titles at ultra details.
