GTX 1080 Sudden coil whine after VGA BIOS flash

Hello.

I have a brand new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Gaming G1, with the Windforce cooling system, which has worked flawlessly for a whole month.

Yesterday i installed some utility programs from Gigabytes support page, and noticed theres a BIOS update i overlooked when downloading drivers a month ago. I then proceeded to flash the newest BIOS (F2) to the the card, from Gigabytes own support page, and after restarting i have gotten this awful loud coil whine while gaming.

Nothing else has changed or been touched.

Should i try to downgrade the BIOS on the graphics card? Im honestly a bit afraid to brick the card.

What can i do in this scenario? Is trying to RMA an option?

AFIK, only EVGA officially accepts RMA on coil whine.
you can contact the support and ask what to do. downgrading BIOS is relatively safe procedure.

The F2 BIOS update is from 2016, is it safe to say the card is shipped with the previous BIOS, F1?

when contacting support, just describe the situation. like you did here and ask what to do.
they will tell you if you should downgrade or RMA.
